The Governor was speaking as a special guest of honor at the 2017 Ogoni Day celebration in Bori the headquarters of Khana Local government Area of Rivers State.
Governor WIKE who was represented by the former senator representing the Rivers South East Senatorial District OLAKA WOGU said if individuals can refine crude oil without technology, they will do better with adequate support and regulations.
He said the participation of the Niger Delta people in the oil industry is non-negotiable.
On his part, the Senator representing Rivers South East Senatorial District MAGNUS ABE who was represented by a former commissioner in the state NDUBUISI NWANKWO stressed the need for Ogoni people to embrace peace.
