In the latest development; the Gabonese government has warned of consequences over calls for a national day of mourning today.

The opposition leader JEAN PING made the call in honour of protesters who were killed in the post-electoral violence in August.

JEAN PING continues to reject President BONGO’s victory, and asked civil servants across the country to stay away from the workplace.

However; the Gabonese Minister of Work, ELOI NZONDO said with all due respect to the dead, business would go on as usual today.

The Minister said all workers and heads of public services must ensure that their duties at work are attended to as usual.
