The aggrieved youth are also threatening to disrupt economic activities in Rivers State if their demands were not settled within two days.

Our correspondent UCHENDU EJIOWHOR reports that the former militants claimed to be drawn from the camp of the Niger Delta Vigilante Force, led by Chief ATEKE TOM.

The protesters besieged the Port Harcourt office of the National Human Right Commission located on Aba Road in Port Harcourt.

Some of the protesters who spoke with newsmen alleged that their leaders had conspired with the bank in charge of the payment to deny them of their monthly allowance.

The protesters called on President MUHAMMADU BUHARI to direct his Special Adviser on Amnesty, Retired Brigadier General PAUL BOROH to pay them through the bank rather than using their leader for handout payment.

The protest is the second time the former militants from the Niger Delta Vigilante Force are coming public to register their displeasure over unpaid allowances.
