David-Vareba who is the Executive Director of Access Africa For Right and Development Initiative, said this at a one day community Eco-defenders training in Port Harcourt by the Health of Mother Earth Foundation.
The Environmental Activist who also expressed worry over the high level of environmental pollution in the Niger Delta, said more drastic approach is needed to reduce such pollution, rather than the already constructive engagement approach.
On his part, a Programme Manager of Health of Mother Earth Foundation, Stephen Oduware expressed optimism that at the end of the training, the beneficiaries would extend their knowledge to others in the rural communities to monitor and report environmental pollution in their various areas.
