Gokpa, who made this statement during the inauguration of the upgraded West Africa Container Terminal (WACT) in Onne, commended APM Terminals for its one hundred and fifteen million dollars investment.
The upgrade aims to boost the terminal’s capacity and efficiency, create jobs, and stimulate economic growth.
The WACT upgrade will include an extensive yard expansion, acquiring state-of-the-art equipment, and the construction of a modern office complex.
The Eleme CTC chairman reaffirmed the LGA’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment, emphasizing the council’s ongoing collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure the success of corporate ventures in the area.
Following the one hundred and fifteen million dollars investment in WACT’s upgrade, with an additional five hundred million dollars proposed, Gokpa expressed optimism that the development would generate shared wealth and job opportunities for the local community.
