Dr. Leloonu Nwibubasa Questions Reconciliation Efforts in Rivers State

Dr. Leloonu Nwibubasa, convener of the Rivers Liberation Movement and former Commissioner for Employment Generation and Economic Empowerment, has expressed skepticism over the state of reconciliation in Rivers State, despite the peace accord reportedly reached between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his political godfather, former Governor Nyesom Wike.

Dr. Nwibubasa called on Governor Fubara to prioritize governance over political arrangements, emphasizing the need for effective leadership that addresses the state’s pressing challenges.

He also criticized the Rivers State House of Assembly, stating that the legislature has yet to show any genuine commitment to working in the interest of the citizens.

Challenging Rivers State residents directly, Dr. Nwibubasa urged them to elect leaders who will genuinely lead the state toward progress, stressing that the future of the state depends on the discernment of its people.

His comments underscore ongoing concerns about political reconciliation and accountability in Rivers State.
