Dangote Refinery Commends President Tinubu, Government Officials for Resolving Dispute with PENGASSAN

The management of Dangote Petroleum Refinery has expressed deep appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for his intervention in resolving the recent dispute between the company and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN).

In a statement issued on Sunday, the refinery commended the decisive role played by the President in bringing an amicable end to what it described as the “disruptive actions of PENGASSAN” against its operations.

Dangote Refinery also extended its gratitude to the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), the Minister of Labour and Employment, and other senior government officials who participated in the negotiations that led to the resolution of the crisis.

According to the statement, the company said the timely intervention of the federal government helped restore industrial harmony and ensure the continuation of operations at the multi-billion-dollar refinery — a critical project for Nigeria’s energy security and economic growth.

“We appreciate the swift and patriotic intervention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose leadership and commitment to industrial peace ensured that normalcy was restored,” the statement read in part. “We also commend the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Minister of Labour and Employment, and all government agencies that acted with urgency and fairness in resolving the matter.”

Dangote Petroleum Refinery reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining cordial relations with labour unions and upholding best practices in employee welfare, safety, and engagement. The company emphasized that the refinery remains focused on its mission to contribute significantly to Nigeria’s quest for energy self-sufficiency, job creation, and economic diversification.

The dispute with PENGASSAN, which had briefly disrupted some operations, has now been fully resolved, with both parties pledging to work together in the interest of national development.
