Comunities in Elele – Alimin granted Autonomy.

Our correspondent UCHENDU EJIOWHOR report that the villages are Mgbuayim, Omuagara, Omuohia, Omuadi, Omuigbom, Omuohiaa and Ngbelelu.

With the addition; there are now fourteen villages with autonomous status in Elele-Alimini, as approved by the Elele Council of Chiefs, Elders and Opinion Leaders.

Our correspondent reports that the decision was reached after extensive consultations and negotiations, following complaints of marginalization by some chiefs.

The Chairman of Elele-Alimini Council of Chiefs, Chief CHIBUIKE GAIUS-DIKE expressed hope that the action would put an end to the marginalization of some communities by government and corporate organizations operating within their domain.

Chief JAMES WELEKWE who is ranked as the oldest man in Elele-Alimini, as well as other members of the new autonomous villages, said freedom has come to their people.
