The deceased member of the únion was allegedly murdered by a member of the state taskforce after the driver declined to pay a fee, a situation which resulted to the drivers threatening to down tools in protest, beginning from today, 2nd of May.

The State Chairman of Drivers Welfare, Jeremiah Dickson, in an interview with Today FM, said the decision to suspend the protest followed the agreement of the local and state governments to dialogue with the family of the victim.

Dickson threatened that the group will not fail to commence the protest should the parties fail to agree on what would be favourable to the family of their slain member.
