CAF Opens Investigation into AFCON Morocco 2025 Quarter-Final Incidents

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the opening of an investigation into incidents that occurred during the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 quarter-final matches involving Cameroon vs Morocco and Algeria vs Nigeria.

In a statement, CAF said it has gathered recent match reports and reviewed video evidence pointing to potentially unacceptable behaviour by some players and officials during the fixtures.

The continental football governing body disclosed that the cases have been referred to its Disciplinary Board for thorough investigation, adding that appropriate sanctions would be imposed if any individuals are found guilty of wrongdoing.

CAF further revealed that it is also examining video footage related to an incident involving some members of the media, who allegedly engaged in misconduct within the mixed zone area.

The body reaffirmed its commitment to upholding discipline, professionalism, and the integrity of African football competitions.
