JOHNSON, who revealed this while speaking to the BBC confirmed that the UK’s plan would include some customs checks on the island of Ireland after Brexit, which according to him will be absolutely minimal and would not involve new infrastructure.
The border between Ireland and Northern Ireland has been a contentious part of the Brexit negotiations since its inception.
The EU however says it has yet not received any proposals that could replace the backstop from the UK which is set to leave the EU on 31 October
