Brazil booked their place in the Round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory over Japan in their Round of 32 clash.
Japan took the lead through Kaishu Sano in the first half, but Brazil responded after the break with an equaliser from Casemiro. Gabriel Martinelli then struck deep into stoppage time to seal victory for the five-time world champions.
Brazil will now face the winner of the Round of 32 tie between Norway and Ivory Coast in the next stage of the tournament.
