The Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel SANI USMAN disclosed in a statement that the terrorists struck yesterday evening.
Colonel USMAN said troops drawn from 119 Task Force Battalion stationed in the area responded appropriately and repelled the invaders after about three hours of gun battle.
The Army spokesman also confirmed that two soldiers lost their life in the battle, while seven were wounded, just as the terrorists suffered countless casualties in the heavy gun battle.
