Bayelsa State Governor, SERIAKE DICKSON has made clarifications on the level of involvement in the move to reclaim proceeds of corruption recovered by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. You will recall that one GEORGE UBOH had petitioned the Senate against the EFCC, accusing the Chairman, IBRAHIM LAMORDE of diverting recovered looted funds. Also; the allegation by UBOH formed the basis of an ongoing investigation of the EFCC Chairman by the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions.
However; Governor DICKSON has come out to say that GEORGE UBOH did not seek the approval of the state government before taking the matter further. Governor DICKSON also said the government has no idea of the actual amount that is supposedly left with the EFCC.
The Bayelsa State Governor was addressing an executive session of the Annual Nigerian Editors Conference held in the state capital, Yenagoa over the weekend.
