The Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel SANI USMAN said the convoy was heading to Maiduguri when it ran into Boko Haram terrorists at Meleri village, near Kawuri.
However; the Army spokesman said the troops were able to clear the ambush, but two soldiers and three civilians in the team were wounded.
He said those wounded, including staff of United Nations agencies and other international humanitarian organizations, were evacuated to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital for treatment.
