Analyst Urges Tinubu to Condemn Judicial Actions Against Opposition

A frontline political analyst, Mahmud Jega, has called on President Bola Tinubu to publicly condemn what he described as the growing use of judicial actions against opposition political parties, warning that the trend could weaken Nigeria’s democracy ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Jega said the President should demonstrate commitment to democratic principles by speaking out against any actions capable of undermining political pluralism and public confidence in the electoral process.

He warned that the perceived targeting of opposition parties through the courts could heighten political tensions and erode trust in Nigeria’s democratic institutions if not addressed.
