The incident happened after unidentified gunmen in an Afghan army uniform opened fire on a group of U.S soldiers.
The shooting took place at eleven o’clock local time while international troops visited a military base in Kabul.
The shooter was killed after the exchange of fire in the Rishkhor neighbourhood of Kabul, which houses an Afghan special forces training centre.
Dozens of international soldiers and advisors have been killed in attacks by Afghan security forces on their allies.
Since 2008, ninety two such attacks have been registered with at least a hundred and fifty international soldiers killed and one eighty seven wounded.
