Former Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi, has said governance in the state collapsed after he left office in 2015.
Amaechi made the remark during an event in Port Harcourt, where he criticised his successor, Nyesom Wike, and the current governor, Siminalayi Fubara, accusing them of failing to understand what governance entails.
According to the former governor, Rivers State is currently lagging behind in several areas of development.
Speaking on the state of the nation, Amaechi, who also served as Minister of Transportation, said Nigerians are facing severe economic hardship under the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
He advised Nigerians to consider alternative political platforms ahead of the 2027 general elections, pointing specifically to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Meanwhile, ahead of the party’s presidential primaries, Amaechi is said to be mobilising ten thousand members of the ADC in each of the twenty-three local government areas of Rivers State.
