In the latest development; a pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, has issued a nine-day ultimatum to President MUHAMMAD BUHARI to send the name of the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria to the National Assembly for confirmation.
Afenifere came out with the position after its monthly meeting, which was held at the country home of its leader, Pa REUBEN FASORANTI, in Akure, Ondo State.
In a statement released by its National Publicity Secretary, YINKA ODUMAKIN, Afenifere expressed worry that barely few days to the expiration of the three months tenure of the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria.
It observed that the delay by the President to forward the name of Justice ONNOGHEN to the Senate for confirmation constitutes an assault on the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The pan-Yoruba group also called on the Federal Government to set up a committee for restructuring of the country.
