ADC Faults Rivers Government’s Free Education Claim

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has described the Rivers State Government’s claim of providing free education at primary and secondary levels as deceptive.

Speaking in an interview, the ADC Chairman in Rivers State, Leader Samson, said the state last experienced genuine free education during the administration of former Governor Chibike Rotimi Amaechi.

According to him, many public schools across the state are currently in poor condition, with little or no maintenance.

Leader Samson also accused the state government of failing to invest in training and capacity building across all levels of education.

He further alleged that available opportunities are limited to a small group of people with political connections or individuals linked to agencies such as the Niger Delta Development Commission.
