Activist score government low on human rights

The Executive Director of the Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, Courage Nsirimovu who made observation in an interview with Today FM’s Sandra Kenneth cited the issue of Ikoku four as one of the incidences in which government had paid lip service.

He said instead of adhering to the anti-torture laws in the country and dealing with defaulting officers effectively, the government has rather promoted officers involved in human rights violations.

The right activist further regretted that the right to life of Nigerians is constantly threatened by security agents.
