A Port Harcourt-based security consultant, retired Colonel CHINEDU OHWONDA says it would have been wrong if the Nigerian Army deployed soldiers in any part of the state without the consent of the Rivers State Governor, NYESOM WIKE.Speaking in an interview with our correspondent, JUDITH EMMANUEL, CHINEDU OHWONDA said it was necessary for the military to brief Governor WIKE about such operations as the Chief Security Officer of the state.The retired Colonel of the Nigerian Army said if the military had not briefed the Governor before the controversial operation in Ogoni, it means they had been a breakdown in communication between the two sides.Retired Colonel CHINEDU OHWONDA stressed the need for security agencies to work in harmony with the Rivers State Government to address the problem of insecurity in the state.
