The Appeal panel led by, Justice Steven Adah, ordered all the parties to maintain the status quo ante before the commencement of the suit before Justice Omereji
Justice George Omereji had on June 9, 2020, asked Igo Aguma, to take control of the APC as the statutory member who applied to the court to be empowered,
Justice Omereji also declared that the tenure of the Isaac Ogbogbula-led Caretaker Committee had expired, as it was not renewed by the then National Working Committee of the APC led by Adams Oshiomole.
Reacting to the Stay of Execution Order, Isaac Ogbogbula commended the appellate court, saying that the judgment of the High Court of Rivers State had marked a significant departure from the norm in the affairs of the APC both at the State and indeed at the National level.
Ogbogbula in a statement urged all APC faithful to begin the process of moving forward.
However Counsel to Igo Aguma in the matter has declared that his clients remains the chairman of the party as according to him the court cannot stay what he described as a declaratory part of the Justice Omereji’s judgement.
He also said his client would approach the Supreme Court to appeal the decision of the Court of Appeal.
