The NPFL players have been overlooked for national team selection in recent years, but Yobo, who is saddled with the responsibility of scouting for players from Nigeria’s topflight division for the Eagles, believes poor pitches have been a major disadvantage for the home-based players.
“If you want players from the NPFL making the senior national team, you need to access them playing on good pitches,” Yobo said in an interview with former Super Eagles media officer, Colin Udoh.
“The home-based players must also prove they are equal to the task anytime they get invited to play for the Super Eagles.
“We have good players in the local league but they must change their mentality when they are invited to the national camp, because it is different.
