Akarandut Orok scored a penalty rebound that has now seen the Uyo club climb to the top half of the league table, leaving their visitors to mourn the loss of a very impressive eight-match unbeaten run – the longest in the league so far this season.
Since losing their opening day fixture 1-3 at table-toppers Plateau United, the Pride of Benue, while maintaining an imperious 100 percent home record, have made sure to pick up at least a point on the road. However, they leave Uyo with nothing, as has always been the case ever since both sides started going head to head in the NPFL.
The five points that separated both sides at the start of the tight encounter has now been reduced to two, but Lobi Stars are still second in the NPFL table.
In Abia, League leaders Plateau United were handed some rude awakening by Abia Warriors in their Match Day 11 contest at the Umuahia Township Stadium on Sunday when Warriors breached their line three times, the most in a single game so far this season. It ended 3-0 in favour of the Enyimba neighbours.
