The Kenya’s Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission had yesterday announced that the repeat election would take place on 17th of October.
However; ODINGA has said he was not ready to take part in the planned re-run, stressing that he wanted legal and constitutional guarantees in place before taking part in the polls.
ODINGA called for changes to the electoral commission, which was blamed by the Supreme Court for irregularities which led to the annulment of the last election on 8th August.
He also wants all eight candidates listed in the ballot papers for the annulled election to be included in the rerun, contrary to information by the electoral commissioner that only two main contenders shall take part in the fresh vote.
