French Macron’s plan to create office of First Lady may have been rejected.

This followed an online petition against the move, which has gained some two hundred and ninety thousand signatures.

 

French media report that BRIGITTE MACRON’s position will be clarified in the coming days, but without altering the country’s constitution.

 

It may interest you to note that the French constitution gives no official status to a president’s spouse, although they are usually allocated an office in the Elysée Palace, with an assistant or two, and security guards.
