The Senate, in the committee of the whole yesterday, considered all the clauses of the bill and scaled it through the third and final reading.
This followed consideration of the report of the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters, which was presented by the Chairman Senator DAVID UMARU.
In his remarks; the Senate President BUKOLA SARAKI expressed hope that the Bill would help in fighting corruption as well as provide adequate legal backing for whistle blowing as a policy.
Our correspondent JAMES IGAH reports that the Whistle Blower Protection Bill was previous dumped by the Sixth and Seventh Senates.
The Federal lawmaker then expressed worries that the legislation could be used as a tool for political witch-hunt.
