UNEP Implementation: Ogoni stakeholders advocates for holistic provision of portable water.

The stakeholders at a consultative meeting organized by the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project, HYPREP in Port Harcourt also hinted on the one billion dollars approved for funding the clean up process.

Some of those who spoke during the meeting including the former Vice Chancellor of Rivers state University, Professor BARINEME FAKAE, said Ogonis are eager to see structures showing the cleanup of the area has commenced.

For his part, B.M WIFA, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, said all hands must be on deck by all Ogonis to ensure that the clean up project succeeds just as he called on leaders of the area to be committed to the development of Ogoni land.
