AU establish body to detect,manage and respond to health emergencies.

The new body is known as Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, ACDC, which has a mandate to collaborate with other international health institutions to share information and improve surveillance of public health threats.The head of the World Health Organization in Africa, Doctor MATSHIDISO MOETI, said the ACDC will set up several regional centres.
