Ondo Polls:INEC bent on carrying out Polls on Saturday.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has already acted on the judgment of the Court of Appeal and listed EYITAYO JEGEDE as the PDP governorship candidate.

This was confirmed in a statement issued by INEC Secretary, AUGUSTA OGAKWU, which affirmed compliance with the judgment of the Court of Appeal.

But the Peoples Democratic Party continues to complain that INEC had refused to heed its call to delay the election because of the legal tussle that rocked the PDP over the choice of its candidate.

Before the Court of Appeal judgment; INEC had listed JIMOH IBRAHIM as PDP candidate based on a ruling by Justice OKON ABANG of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.

The State Chairman of the PDP, CLEMENT   FABOYEDE said it would be unfair for the party not to be given equal treatment like its rival in the election.

The reinstated PDP governorship candidate, EYITAYO JEGEDE said INEC cannot claim that its hands are tight under the circumstance, especially when elections have been shifted in other states before now.

JEGEDE said what the PDP suffered was a legal emergency which INEC need to take into consideration, just like in a case of security emergency that had been used to postpone elections.

Meanwhile; the APC governorship candidate, OLUWAROTIMI AKEREDOLU was on the road on the last day of the campaign and spoke with newsmen on his experience.

Barring any last minute change of plans; the Ondo State governorship election will take place on Saturday.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner, OLUSEGUN AGBAJE has been overseeing the distribution of sensitive materials for the election.
