The operation involving troops of 27 Task Force Brigade of the Nigerian Army has already touched suspected Boko Haram hideouts at Ajigin, Golgore, Njibulla and Doksa villages on the southern parts of Borno State.
The Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel SANI USMAN said during the operation, troops neutralized thirty-seven Boko Haram terrorists at Ajigin and recovered three AK-47 rifles.
Colonel USMAN also confirmed that a member of the vigilante group assisting the troops lost his life, while five soldiers were wounded during the clearance operation.
The Army spokesman said the troops also captured one Boko Haram terrorist named MUSA JUBRIL and rescued a woman believed to have been used as sex slave from Boko Haram captivity.
In a related development; troops of Seven Division the Nigerian Army under “Operation Lafiya Dole” have cleared Geram, Bulankassa and Chukungudu on the southern fringes of the Lake Chad Region.
The operation around the northern parts of Borno State on Friday and Saturday was led by the General Officer Commanding Seven Division, Brigadier General VICTOR EZUGWU.
