Migration officials said the victims were involved in two shipwrecks of the Mediterranean coast of Libya.
The United Nations refugee agency has also told reporters that only two survivors had been brought to shore on the Italian island of Lampedusa.
Reports say more than four thousand; two hundred migrants have died this year, while trying to cross the dangerous sea to Europe.
However; nearly three hundred and thirty thousand migrants have successfully crossed the sea so far this year.
