Rwanda’s President KAGAME threaten showdown with France.

This followed an announcement by French investigators to reopen a probe into the assassination of former president JUVENAL HABYARIMANA.

You will recall that the shooting down of HABYARIMANA’s plane in 1994 triggered the 1994 genocide in which hundreds of thousands were killed, mainly ethnic Tutsis.

Reports say the investigation was being reviewed to hear evidence from a dissident general, FAUSTIN KAYUMBA NYAMWASA, who accused President KAGAME of involvement in the plot to kill the former leader.

But President KAGAME strongly denies involvement in the shooting down of the plane, killing his predecessor and the French crew.
