State of emergency declared in Ethiopia following violent anti-government protests.

Ethiopian Prime Minister, HAILEMARIAM DESALEGN said the declaration became necessary because the situation posed a threat against the people of the country.

The state of emergency which is said to be the first in the past twenty-five years, will last for six months.
