This follows government’s allegation that supporters of the opposition leader JEAN PING are inciting genocide and crimes against humanity and as such requests that the ICC launches an investigation.
Opposition supporters set ablaze the parliamentary building after President ALI BONGO was declared the winner of the August 27election, while PING also alleged his party headquarters had been bombed.
BENSOUDA said the preliminary examination would determine if there was enough evidence to carry out an investigation.
