The Bursar of the National Open University of Nigeria, NOUN, Nasiru Marafa, has been shot dead while returning from Gusau, Zamfara State.
The university confirmed his death in a statement signed by its Registrar and Secretary to Council, Oladipo Ajayi.
According to the statement, Marafa was reportedly shot while returning from Gusau.
The university, however, did not disclose the location of the incident or provide further details on the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
His death has sparked concerns over the security situation in Zamfara State.
