Rep. Dekor Condemns Alleged Campaign of Misinformation Against Khana Chairman

The member representing Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Dumnamene Dekor, has condemned what he described as a coordinated campaign of misinformation intended to destabilise Khana Local Government Area and tarnish the image of the council chairman, Dr. Thomas Bariere.

In a statement issued through his media team, Dekor dismissed reports alleging renewed insecurity in the area, describing them as fabricated stories circulated by individuals pursuing political interests.

He maintained that peace and stability had significantly improved under the current administration, attributing the progress to strategic collaboration between the local government, security agencies and community stakeholders.

The lawmaker urged residents to remain vigilant, disregard false reports capable of creating fear and continue supporting the council’s development and security initiatives.

Dekor also warned those behind the alleged smear campaign that while freedom of expression is guaranteed under the Constitution, it does not extend to defamation or actions capable of threatening public peace. He said anyone found engaging in cyberstalking, cyberbullying, defamation or incitement would face the full weight of the law.
