The Programmes Director of Partnership Initiative in the Niger Delta, DARA AKALA gave this indication at an event in Port Harcourt.
AKALA noted that the undemocratic nature of selection of leaders in the local government system in the state has denied the people effective service delivery.
On his part, the Programs Manager for LEAD Project, BORVE PAAGO noted that the disappearance of the legislative arm at the local government level makes it challenging to effectively fulfill the objective of governance at that level.
