ABUBAKAR MAHMOUD drew the anger of the EFCC following his criticism of the manner the anti-graft agency was handling the prosecution of corruption cases.
MAHMOUD had in his inaugural speech called for the stripping of the EFCC of the power to prosecute suspected fraudsters, but to be restricted to investigating such cases.
But the call did not go down well with the leadership of the EFCC which accused the NBA Chairman of embarking on a mission to weaken the agency.
However; MAHMOUD has now demanded an apology from the EFCC to the Nigerian people for not being receptive to criticism.
ABUBAKAR MAHMOUD said his suggestions for the reform of the EFCC are not strictly from his experience as a defendant in some of the high profile corruption cases.
