President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has removed Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun and is set to appoint Assistant Inspector-General of Police Olatunji “Tunji” Disu as the new head of the Nigeria Police Force.
Sources in the Presidency said Egbetokun was informed of the decision during a meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja and directed to prepare his handover notes.
Disu, who has served in key operational and investigative roles within the force, is expected to assume office soon.
Neither the Presidency nor the Nigeria Police Force has officially confirmed the development at the time of this report.
