The All Progressives Congress (APC) has conducted ward congresses in Ahoada East and Khana Local Government Areas of Rivers State in preparation for the February 21 House of Assembly bye-elections.
In Ahoada East Local Government, the congress was supervised by an APC congress committee led by Smart Iheanazo, with members of the party’s appeal committee in attendance. Observers from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies, including the Department of State Services and the Nigeria Police, were also present to monitor the exercise.
A similar ward congress was held in Khana Local Government Area under the supervision of the APC delegate congress and primary election committee, headed by Oyoala Peter.
Delegates elected during the congresses are expected to participate in the party’s primaries to select APC candidates for the February 21 House of Assembly bye-elections.
