Families at Ihuaje community count loses following widespread destruction of houses over the weekend.

Our correspondent SANDRA KENNETH was at Ihuaje and reports that at least three houses were burnt down.

Some inhabitants of the community complained that the buildings were razed down due to violent confrontation between soldiers and some youth from the community.

Trouble started after some hoodlums attacked soldiers guarding the premises of a company in the area and stole one official rifle.

The owner of one of the destroyed buildings is ROBINSON EWOH who works as community liaison officer for the private company.

Also speaking; the Paramount Ruler of Ihuaje, Chief FRIDAY EJADE told our correspondent that he was also arrested and detained by the soldiers for a crime he knew nothing about.

Chief FRIDAY EJADE is the Paramount Ruler of Ihuaje community in Ahoada-East Local Govenrment Area of Rivers State.
