Our correspondent gathered from a close source that the politician who hails from Ereme town and popularly known as Chief G.U AKE died of an undisclosed illness at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital.
Chief AKE was a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party, and former PDP Chairman in Rivers State.
The late politician was named South-South Zonal Chairman of the PDP in 2004, before he later emerged as State Chairman of the party.
He was, however, removed by a High Court in Abuja, which paved the way for the present PDP leadership under FELIX OBUAH.
Also confirming the death of Chief AKE; a political leader from Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area, Prince PETER ODIKE said the late politician would be greatly missed.
