The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), reportedly backed by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, has ratified the expulsion of the Governors of Oyo, Bauchi, and Zamfara States — Seyi Makinde, Bala Mohammed, and Dauda Lawal respectively — along with other key party figures.
Also affected are former Board of Trustees Chairman Senator Adolphus Wabara, Senator Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, Deputy National Chairman (South) Taofeek Arapaja, among others, for alleged anti-party activities.
In addition, the NEC ratified the dissolution of the State Executive Councils of Bauchi, Oyo, Zamfara, Yobe, Lagos, Edo, and Ekiti States.
The decisions were taken during the 103rd NEC meeting held at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja on Tuesday. Acting National Chairman Alhaji Mohammed Abdulrahman, who presented the memo for the expulsions, said the action was due to the affected members’ disregard for court judgments, which he noted had brought the party into disrepute.
The NEC meeting’s communique was read by the National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu.
