Khana LG Launches Registration for 400 GCE NECO Candidates Under Free Education Scheme

The Chairman of Khana Local Government, Dr. Thomas Bariere, has commenced the registration of 400 candidates for the General Certificate of Education (GCE) NECO examination under the council’s free education initiative.

Addressing parents and candidates at the Suanu Nwika Finimale Conference Hall in Bori, Dr. Bariere said that successful candidates of the GCE NECO would be eligible for the council’s subsequent free JAMB scheme.

The council chairman also revealed plans to deploy volunteer teachers to rural schools to address the employment gap in the local education sector.

Our correspondent reports that the Assistant Director, Exams HOD National Common Exams, Fred Giadom, announced that the GCE NECO examination is scheduled to commence on December 26, 2025. The examination will be conducted at two registration centres: Bishop Mackenzie Grammar School (BMGS) and Government High School, Beeri.
