MPIGI said voting took place across Tai, ballots collated and results declared by INEC accredited officials, with MATTHEW DIKE of the APC returned as winner for Tai state constituency seat.
The APC candidate for the House of Reps election said it was mischievous for the PDP and its chairman, FELIX OBUAH to mount pressure in a bid to deny DIKE the mandate that was freely given by Tai people.
BARRY MPIGI also denied allegations by the Rivers PDP Chairman that the APC was forcing INEC to announce the results for Tai rerun because of the fear of losing another round of election in the area.
According to a statement by his spokesman, JOE GWEZIA, MPIGI boasted that himself and Senator MAGNUS ABE command popularity and enjoy the support of the people to win any properly conducted election their constituencies.
He maintained that the Tai rerun has already been concluded in with the Electoral Act; as he described the PDP insistence for it to be cancelled as an afterthought.
The APC chieftain called on PDP and its chairman to accept defeat because they failed to challenge the results of the rerun in Tai lga at the election tribunal, hoping to arm-twist INEC to do their bidding.
