The inauguration of the two organs by President MUHAMMADU BUHARI at the Presidential Villa coincides with the fifth anniversary of the release of the UNEP Report on the cleanup of Ogoniland.
The Governing Council and the Board of Trustees are to work together on the implementation of the UNEP Report.
The council will handle management and policy-related issues of the cleanup exercise, while the board will take charge of funding and oversight functions.
