Umar Damagum, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has reaffirmed the party’s firm resolve to hold its national convention as scheduled in November in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Damagum made this declaration during the inauguration of the 110-member National Convention Organizing Committee (NCOC) in Abuja. He emphasized that there would be no reconsideration of the date, underscoring the party’s commitment to the planned event.
The convention committee is headed by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State, with Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke serving as the vice chairman. Additionally, Governor Peter Mbah was appointed as the secretary of the committee.
The PDP’s national convention is seen as a crucial step in the party’s preparations for upcoming elections, and Damagum’s statement underscores the party’s determination to proceed with the event as scheduled.
