The death toll from the explosion in Gwabro village, located in the Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State, has risen to eight. Two additional women succumbed to injuries sustained during the blast, which occurred amidst Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
The explosion was reportedly caused by a locally made improvised explosive device (IED). Security authorities continue to investigate the incident and its circumstances.
